We asked a variety of questions
What is koso bathing?
It is a warm bath using fermented rice bran or sawdust heated by natural microbial fermentation. It gently warms the body from the core, helping with relaxation and overall wellness.

Why is it called “Oheso”?
Our shop is located in the very center of the Miura Peninsula. Just like the navel is the center of the body, we chose the name “Oheso” to represent this central location.

What? ‘Oheso’... does that mean like the navel of the earth?
Do you have any questions?

Koso bathing... what’s that?
Yep, it’s warm and cozy.

Will I sweat a lot?
Even if you rarely sweat, you’ll feel it for sure.

So, it’s not like a sauna?
Saunas heat you from the outside, but koso bathing warms you from the inside.

What kind of benefits does it have?
There are so many benefits—better immunity, higher metabolism, beautiful skin, and even help with weight loss!

How does koso bathing warm you up?
Only by the heat from fermentation—no gas or electricity. We keep it around 60–70°C (140–158°F).

(Huh… the person in charge had changed, I realized.)
Hey, I’m your new contact!

Do you enter the kosobath naked?
Our bath is unisex, so all guests wear a special kosobath garment during their session.

Can men use the kosobath?
On weekends and holidays, men can use the bath alone. On weekdays, we ask that men come accompanied by a female guest.

Can young children use the kosobath?
Small children can join, but only in private sessions.

Do I need a reservation?
You can make a reservation online or by calling our store directly.

Q: Is there parking available?
Yes, we have five dedicated parking spaces right next to the store.

I… I want to ask the person from before something.
Have you summoned me?

How many people can use the kosobath at the same time?
Our bath can accommodate up to 4 guests at a time. For private sessions with children, we can welcome up to 5 guests.
